The Uni days-08
Hello fellow readers!
How are you all? Hope you all are doing fine.
The entire day's schedule certainly depends on the time we wake up.I feel being an early riser somehow kickstarts a productive day...what do you guys say? A peaceful morning walk amidst the lush green heavy trees, the melodious birds chirping, the slowly rising energizing surya, an off-white ceramic bowl full of organic fruits for breakfast besides a transparent glass full of fresh orange juice, relishing these on a bamboo swing.Isn't that a fantasizing ideal morning? Feels so. If you ask me how are days swiftly going on, somedays it's like being the female protagonist in a Shekhar Kammula's film.... pairing a nice chikankari suit with denims, all decked up, flipping hair in the direction of the fan's wind, accessorising with favorite watches, getting ready with Mohit Chauhan's 'masakali' playing in the background, going to college and feeling all excited and enthusiastic. And other days it's just being held up with loads of works and responsibilities, isolating oneself in the hostel room with the books and laptops and just studying. Both ways, it's a matter of perspective and learning things be it new academic topics or life lessons!
Life lessons se yaad aaya!
I'm studying in a non- telugu speaking state and it's common to understand that people here don't understand telugu. I'll tell you few epic incidents and then you'll automatically conclude the moral. Snehal and I were going to a nearby place in an auto sitting behind and there was one bhaisaab in front of us who probably lacked public ethics at that point of time. Snehal and I were obviously talking about it and cut to him turning back and asking "Meeru telugu valla😑?"Assalu! Vere level unde adgagaane!(Means "Are you guys telugoos?") Baad ka nateeja wasn't bad because we, after all, were telugoos. Second incident, the same auto, but this time we were four girls in the back talking about the then famous AP politics and few jokes here and there. Cut to another anna in the front seat, who just starts speaking in telugu. The same thing happened half a dozen of times! I'm just amazed at how the telugu population is evenly scattered everywhere...Mari anthe kada,Teluguvallam ante.. taggedele!😅Emantaaru?
I'm usually not a person who feels tensed while giving presentations or something like that. But, a couple of days, the stress-meter was above the normal limit. I told this to Snehal and she just randomly played our famous 'Marfa' from her spotify playlist and she was like Ye sun behen, sab theek hoyenga! She then bought me an ice cold mango ice-cream when I said I did well.Typical hyderabadis.. Mein kya bolu ab! From the teens, I've always liked the marathi because I've read that many good saints hail from this place. Nowadays, I'm soo used to listening this new language that even the famous song zingaat doesn't rejoice me if heard in hindi😅
I feel the professors in my department are the coolest ones in the entire university. One day, we wanted to watch a matinee movie. What do I say. Agricultural universities are located in outskirts and it's kinda difficult to get a khud-ka-auto. We were just stranded amidst the red buses, green trees and yellow umbrellas. Then came our professor in his brand-new Kia car and was like 'I'm going that way only, chalo join' It was like finding an oasis in a desert full of sand and storm! He was too chill with three of us, asking beta where are you going, which movie are you watching, which theatre, did you eat or no and also ensuring when we'd return. And next day sir asked me how the movie was. Isn't that too cool? It definitely was! Also, one more thing I've noticed that I was never made to wait for more than 2 minutes for any professor in the department. It's just that the student- teacher rapport is very cordial here, to which I'm always grateful for.
When it comes to thoughts and actions, I'm an old-school person. If you are too, then you'd connect to what I'm saying further.I'm a person who loves to gift handmade things. Gifting people something which includes the human effort gives joy to people on both the ends. So I was looking for a good greeting card for my senior who was too chill and was about to leave in a week. To my utmost astonishment, there was not even a single proper card in the 10 shops which I've gone to. I mean, what's this now. One shopkeeper uncle who probably was in his sweet 60s was like "Beti, cards were when we were jawan, it's all whatsapp now, ab kaun likhte hein?" Likhte hein guys! Do you agree? If you won't agree, then you'd probably not relate to this also.
Then what do I say.... yeah!!! This kinderjoy hype is legit real guys! Once, Snehal and I went shopping with my phd senior. She's too chill. We went to a medical shop at the end where she ended up buying 5 kinderjoys and I was like...noo... it's for kindergarten bache. She came to my room, started opening each of it and the final one had that harry potter ka toy. The excitement in both, her eyes and in her voice was seen clearly😂Seeing seniors na, I'm learning many things (you know, when you like your seniors, you like to enact like them or try to become like them, be it the discipline, knowledge or this innocence...cute!) and one of it, is this 😅The other day snehal and I went out, my eyes fell on a humongous rack filled with these harry potter themed kinderjoys just beside the billing counter and I couldn't resist myself from going there. Until Snehal bought everything she wanted from that mart, I was near that rack taking every kinderjoy, shaking it,keenly observing it, trying some telepathy 😅and finally picked one! That bhaiyya in the shop was billing everything and as soon as he billed the kinderjoy, I took it and was opening it. You won't believe that bhaiyya stopped billing and he was also watching what must be inside...mana performance atlaantidi mari!😂And guess what! Harry potter it was! (Drumrolls).Everyone started smiling there. I'm sharing this because even a small incident, a minute moment, if filled with innocence and with the intend to make it memorable including people around you, brings much joy. Haa ki naa?
The past few months have been teaching me many things. Life lessons, the selfless 3 am friendships, correcting my words from 'mereko' to 'mujhe', the cute interactions, adapting to the rigorous grind around, walking like thrice a day to college which sums to 5-6 kms a day... uff! What not! But I'm kinda lovin' it.
I have a million more incidents to share I think, but my lovely readers have already put in their valuable 10 minutes in reading this blog and I don't like to prolong it. Hence, I'm going to publish them in the next blog soon.
Stay healthy, Stay happy.
With love,
Sharwani.
