College blog-05

Hello guys!

Hope you all are doing good!

In this post,I just want to share and reminisce the satisfying experiences which I've had in the last few days of my Rhwep training.

During the first days of this learning programme, the guava trees in our research station were all pruned and we barely had colours to see.... But now, it feels very relaxing to see the new colourful blossom, the rain drops finding their way on the leaflets and giving out petrichor, peahens dancing in the wet weather in the tunes of barso re megha megha (lol!) It's a completely new feeling of being trained under professional scientists (They were sooo knowledgeable...we felt like we knew nothing😅) This phase is like a bridge for adulting.... Right from sharing room rents with 3 of my fellow comrades to cutting down extravagances, saving power, cooking on our own, deciding on the day's menu, planning to exercise and failing everyday😂,making funny videos together, sharing clothes and accessories, bargaining in the vegetable market 😶,buying budget friendly groceries, saving our stipend like  misers ...we've come a long way from being a regular college student to a student cum adult (ahh.... I'm not sure about the proper word to use here...lol)

Talking about the training, it's absolutely amazing! When scientists are your guides, there's a different perspective of learning.... We've been given a bird's eye view on every aspect. So, last week we've been given a task of visiting around 70 nurseries in two days ( Yes yes,I know it's hectic!!!) to collect, confirm and check some data for a programme. We've visited them and collected data.Coming to what's so special in that and why I'm I mentioning it here.... You gotta wait for it...

So guys! the village was kinda remote with barely one or two autos to travel and as we took a pledge to save our money,we decided to walk and ended up walking 5-6 km halting at each and every nursery, waiting for the owner, taking details, pictures etc!!!!!( We were exhausted... obviously na!) We had lunch at a sunsaan place( place where no one was available at a 2 km radii also!) and we came back home with weary feet.

Next day, we did the same thing again... This time our little brain functioned a little more and we took an auto, instead of walking 16 kms😅, we went to nurseries, checked and came back.... So this is not the end guys! The next day was my roommate's birthday and how do we, the college kiddos s celebrate birthdays!???(If you don't know, then I pity you) We came back to our flat at 5 pm and two of us rushed to the nearby town to buy a cake and related stuff.... Guess what! We had to walk another mile to get what we needed. Now the story ends....we brought, arranged everything and celebrated her birthday with great pomp! We had the loudspeaker working till 2am till the owner told us 😂...

Like this one, there are many more experiences to share and many more to experience further.... This phase, not only for me but for everyone is special and I wish, it'll be memorable for all of us!

Signing off for today?

See ya in the next post.. Until then,

Stay happy, stay healthy.

Sharwani
