College post-06
Hello fellow readers!
Hope you all are keeping well!
I know it's been ages that a new post was out.... I'll blame it on the 10 kilo records which we were made to write at the end of our rural training programme, which obviously drived me nuts! I'll just share few random things which happened in these 6 long months of no new posts. It's gonna be a screed I know!
On one side we were sad that our Rhwep was coming to an end, which means no staying together with friends, no Gorden Ramsay cooking shows, no Ariana Grande concerts, no Khatron ke khiladi stunts in the room, obviously no KBC to win (tmi: questions of pathology, entomology, soil science, economics etc etc etc) ....ah! these were the best 3 months in my college life so far. Speaking of the other end, after costing me an arm and a leg...my bank balance declining to a two digit figure during rhwep, I can now finally go home and transform into a parasite on my hosts at home (Mean na? You also did that...go rewind!)
Then comes another phase of this roller-coaster college life, my 8 weeks long 'Industrial Attachment' in a company located in Shamshabad ( I won't name it because people from that company read my blogs bro 😂! This blog's probably enjoying it's little fame now...haha)
So yeah, Horticultural Industrial Attachment (HIA) was henceforth started. Regardless of whatever you guys think on the coming statement, I'm going to stick onto this sentence that I haven't seen people ( person may be 😅) who cause immense amount of mental trauma 🤦 If you were an intern along with me at that time... You know who I'm talking about 😂 and I'm not making a fuss about this🤷
Anyway, the day 1 was new and fresh! We reached the entry gate and got down from the auto. Wait a minute! Here, we were feeling a little inferior to get down from an auto with all the Mercedes' and Audis' halting beside. Ignoring them or may be by setting our hair looking in those mirrors, we took multiple steps just to freeze again looking at the shining glass office! Again, it was new okay! I'm studying horticulture and broooo we use these glasses for the polyhouses and these guys built an entire 20 storeyed office using glass ( concrete is obviously there but..)??? I was just concerned about the amount of heat which would get trapped in the office and the amount of air-conditioners which they might be using 😅😅
A couple of minutes later I came to know that we interns weren't allowed to go in and we had an old office building to work in ( Koyi baat nahi, mere saath nahi hoga, tho kiske saath hoga?)
That building was also pretty cool.... Also, who has an entire world class business school in an office🤷that company had! I was lucky in this way to witness all this....Then came our mentors, few very knowledgeable, few parallelly knowledgeable and few....you know what I'm saying. We had a good introduction from them...... I forgot to mention that few students from my Uni but of different place, joined us for this internship kinda work. They were amazing!
Day 1 was all about knowing each other's names, native's, motive's etc. From day 2,ek alag level ka routine tha yaar.....I had to wake up before the sun, get ready, travel for 4 hours(to and fro) a day in hyderabad's famous traffic jam... just to go and sit idle for hours on few days! Rest of the days were okayish....but we got to learn about many plants, their light requirements, costs ,propagation techniques, weeds, terrace gardenings, terrariums ...what not! Many cashable ideas were also taught! Apart from learning...or I can confidently say revising these topics taught to us, we experienced many new things (If you are new to my blogs,I mostly write about experiences which I had and how did I have them)
Travelling in RTC buses is a Sardard (typical hindi word for headache) sometimes...the bus barely moves a kilometer till I finish listening to Shah rukh khan's Chaiyya Chaiyya for nearly 5 times! This just reminded me of a funny incident, keep reading. One of my friend stays in Ecil (a place in hyd)She comes to Uppal (another place in hyd) and then takes a bus to Shamshabad(work place). One day in Uppal, she saw a bus with a board Ecil 🔁 Shamshabad, she boarded it in the morning....Now imagine what happened! She boarded the return bus which took her back home 😂 instead of the work place costing her her precious 4 hours of time! On the other day, she boarded other bus which took her to the outskirts of the city( the route to another district) 😂 Such were our experiences with the journeys. 😅
There were many other memories also... like the nervousness when said to draw layouts, confidently coming late😅, confidently telling the wrong scientific names of plants to the mentors, making half day plans, having mini music concerts with friends, my roommate taking malayalam classes for all of us, randomly giving presentations, sometimes walking a mile to come out of that sunsaan area, struggles to find an auto anna to take us back from the work place, chup chup ke going home in the afternoons, taking an infinite number of plant cuttings home etc etc....
Anyway this industrial attachment came to an end making many friends and registering good memories.....
I hope you liked reading this blog and I promise to come back soon with a new blog for sure😅I said I promise!!!
Until then,
Stay strong, stay happy
Sharwani.
