College blog 07
Hi guys!
Kaise ho?
Okay...
I haven't been very consistent in writing blogs, but I've been very consistent in filming and enjoying the past few months. So basically, the last 6 months were the 'last 6 months' in my undergrad, and hence I really didn't have proper time to sit down, open my page, and write (I'm seriously not kidding). This blog might neither have a proper beginning nor an end, but I'm sure you'll definitely 'feel' what I'm feeling.
To begin with, our ELP started in college (HELP-Horticultural Experiential Learning Programme) from December'22 to May'23. On one side, it's basically our last sem with no classes, no exams, but only practical field work of growing particular crops given to us and observing everything about them, right from field preparation, sowing, manuring, spraying, observing pests and diseases, harvesting, post- harvest, marketing, sale, etc. And on the brighter end, these were the best days in college; each and every day was a new experience, be it good or bad.
So we were a team of 16 in the beginning and were assigned the seed production and vermicomposing modules. By the end we ended up in four 4's😂(a typical class groupism) and I'll openly say that my group was the best in all aspects! (Srikanth, I, Snehal and Vidya with goggles and crossed hands😎)Few were my favorites but rest idk😅(Again a typical co-ed class).
I don't know why, but I want to share each and every incident clearly with you guys. May be it's because a few of you have asked me to keep writing and told me that you love the way I write (here's a 🤍 for you guys! Thank you soo much)
We four (were basically a clique) had very similar ideologies, interests, thoughts etc and shared a very good rapport. Every day we had to go to the field and water our plots and supervise them. Mr. Srikanth was an expert in laying drip pipes, seed rates, technical work, implements etc, Snehal had a bird's eye view of the production technologies of our crops; Vidya was also good at them; and then guys...I decided to become a YouTuber😂(iykyk).
Our routine was set--Going to the field at 6am (I was always late!😅 Snehal is my soulmate, so she never scolded me, Vidya is a good friend-so she tried to tell me to come on time and Srikanth initially scolded me and finally told me not to come only😂.... This was because my roommate and I had odd sleep timings and we would be awake till 2am to talk about rocket sciences, politics, colleges, friends, random topics, video call our friends and if time lasted, we studied lol). Then comes the breakfast time.. ( I'm craving chapathi from my hostel rn🥲It was the only good breakfast served to us). Then rushing to the library to act like studying/ sometimes actually studying or had to do some field work. Afternoon's lunch, and the study time till night. I forgot to mention that one day, my Mallu roommate, Miss Ammu, woke me up at 1 a.m. just to taste the palada (a famous sweet in Kerela) which she made at that time. Such things were common in my room!
Apart from this routine, whatever we did, had a lot of mauj, masti, dosti, paagalpan, bachpanaapan and everything. One day we played holi while watering. I think it was me who started opening the drip pipes and pouring water on each other. I clearly remember pouring water on Srikanth's mobile (unintentionally), him along with Snehal trying to drag me to the mainline so that I could be drenched in water.. But hah! who's the stronger one? It didn't happen😎 Vidya started taking revenge on Srikanth....and guess what! four of us ended up fully wet.(I guess I vlogged it)
On the very first day of ELP, we had to do a puja but, "Ham tho ham hein". We were busy watching and whistling to PSPK's "Yeh mera jahan" in the most crowded theatre with people singing, throwing papers, dancing and almost breaking the 70 mm screen.
With a motto to explore Hyderabad fully with the Mallus and the non-locals, we've decided to wake up at 5am, walk a couple of kilometers to the main road, take a bus and go to Charminar to have a dosa! We did, and the next plan was ______ Yes! It was blank as we didn't plan anything and thought to go with the flow and thus, we flew in the direction of the wind (the last few words, don't imagine them okayyyy! I'm trying to add a lil comedy anthe) I then saw Charminar properly for the first time and the irony was that my Mallu roommate was guiding me with the history, routes and shops around Charminar as she's been there thrice. Visiting Chowmahalla palace seemed like a good idea for all of us as none of us had seen it. As we were in and discussing on how we could break the glass and steal the huge talwaar of the Nizam, we got a call which ruined our day. It was from our very strict professor telling "Betaji, despite us informing you about the orientation program ,you guys went out! Come and meet me in an hour!" (Hamare saath nahi hoga, tho kiske saath hoga yeh!) We initially thought to ignore it but again...popular faces missing in an important program wasn't accepted. Then this happened: us booking a cab, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag 2.0, reaching the college auditorium gasping, sneaking into the hall and finding out that the program just got delayed by 30 minutes!!!!Now idk what to say!
Also guys, we used to have cooking shows in our HOsTEL rooms! Stealing rice, dal from the college mess, fresh vegetables from our plots, spices tho we had bought a box that would be shared. I remember hiding all the kettles, inductions, pans etc when our warden would come to check.
Jumping from the plot fences to have a breezy stroll was fun. I remember Srikanth, Snehal and I jumping our locked college gate to go out when we were hangry. We would think of having something different but would always end up having hot panipuri and chilled sugarcane juice haha!
Our professor was a lil biased towards us😅 She used to sign our permission letters (to return late to the Uni hostels) without even reading them, but seeing us (Such was our rapport and trust!) We were fully in the present at that moment.
I completely forgot about the strike that we did in our college! So guys suno! I mean padho! We had a huge strike in our college against the college management. All the students gathered in the boys mess and had a meeting....Boycotting classes, exams, staff, police involving, notices to vacate hostels, us revolting again, the Zonal head, Dean and Vice Chancellor coming and partially sorting.....Emanna experience undena!
I'm now realizing that I've written more than 1100 words and I need to stop or else you guys would stop reading...haha! I want to conclude that despite us bunking classes, roaming like no other gang would, pulling each other's leg, making other gangs feel jealous about us, chit chatting with our professors, skipping the boring must-attend auditorium lectures, enjoying the hostel life to the fullest, getting the highest marks in the last sem ...We always drew a line between the two sides of what we did. Such was our friendship turned kinship!💗
I wrote this blog spontaneously, so that you guys also go back using your brain's time machine and relive the best moments you had in your college days with your friends and forget about the foes. And now have a million dollar smile while reading this, pat yourselves for today, comment down on how you felt and lastly, wait until I post the next blog haha!
Stay happy, stay healthy.
Sharwani ♡
